Works from the Collections loaned to temporary exhibitions from 2011 to 2026
Historical summary of the works loaned by the 20th Century Art Collection, Juana Francés Collection, Eusebio Sempere Collection, and the Michael Jenkins and Javier Romero Collection of the MACA, and the Fundación Mediterráneo Collection (on deposit at the MACA) to different national and international exhibitions from its beginnings until May 2026.
Temporary exhibitions have become one of the best formulas to disseminate the Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art, both within and outside our borders. The pieces belonging to these Collections are recognized and requested, with regularity, by curators and scholars to form part of important temporary exhibitions.
Every loan entails the performance of certain tasks before, during, and after the departure of a work. It is necessary to complete the condition reports, carry out an exhaustive review of the pieces prior to and following the exhibition, supervise permits, packaging, insurance, and transport. Likewise, a follow-up of the loaned work is maintained from its departure from the exhibition gallery or storage until its return to it.
All loans of work have been carried out with the maximum guarantees of conservation, transport, and handling. Each institution that has requested a piece from the collections has had to fulfill strict requirements and cover all costs of packaging, security, specialized transport and, in some cases, courier for the supervision of the installation and de-installation of the work.
