Since October 2012, the MACA launched a program of activities for a group of Alzheimer's patients in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Patient Association of Alicante, sponsored in turn by the Manuel Peláez Foundation and the Provincial Council of Alicante.
First edition: October 2012 – June 2013
-Optical and kinetic art: art in motion. 20th Century Art Collection.
-The representation of women in the 20th Century Art Collection.
-The memory of objects. Self-portrait by Carmen Calvo, Fundación Caja Mediterráneo Collection.
-Eusebio Sempere. The line that dreams, in the Eusebio Sempere Collection.
-Joan Miró. Constellations, based on Miró from the 20th Century Art Collection.
-Inadvertent architecture, Encounters between the DKV Seguros Collection and the Caja Mediterráneo Collection.
-Fernando Sinaga, Ideas K, temporary exhibition.
-By way of reflection, temporary exhibition with works from the Fundación Caja Mediterráneo Collection.
The result of this first edition was reflected in You and I, The Documentary, directed by Alberto Nieto and with the support of the Film Studies Center "Ciudad de la Luz", which was responsible for obtaining all graphic material, recording the visits and collecting testimonies from the two couples featured. All of this with the idea of creating a documentary that today is a reality, thanks to a collaboration agreement between the Film Studies Center Ciudad de la Luz and the Culture Department of the Alicante City Council

Works loaned by private collections and the artist's collection. This retrospective that encompassed a large part of his creative period (1984-2011), vindicated Fernando Sinaga's independent spirit and sought to make evident the richness and complexity of his work. The transgression of boundaries implies not only the interactivity between works, whether objects or images, but the appreciation of space as a visual and plastic element rather than as a neutral container for creations, which in turn implies valuing art more as an aesthetic experience in which one participates, than as distant contemplation. The exhibition made clear that Sinaga immerses himself in an individual ideology, changing, favoring differences rather than homogeneity, and that responds to the aesthetic imperative in the sense of creation and not beauty, on one hand through the expansion of the concept of sculpture, and on the other, in works such as De los sentimientos, 1994 through the revision of the idea of abstraction.

MACA is a living and dynamic museum, which is why the educational team has offered complementary activities since its inception to showcase the creative processes and references of contemporary art. Each year the museum renews its proposals for the different levels of formal education. These are projects related to the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions. The ultimate goal of the different proposals is to promote the construction of a critical perspective, learn to observe the works, enjoy the information that can be useful for understanding and appreciating each piece, and have the necessary keys so that each student can face contemporary art without inhibitions.Since its opening, the museum's educational team has committed to inclusive education. Throughout the year, multiple projects are developed for attention to diversity and social awareness, whose purpose has been and is to promote effective integration and real accessibility for all to art, culture, and the museum. To this end, the museum regularly organizes programs, projects, guided visits, and workshops for groups with physical, psychological, sensory, intellectual, or mental functional diversity, as well as for groups in situations of social vulnerability. We are fully convinced that attention to all audiences should be a priority, and in that way we plan and organize educational activities in order to serve all people. All projects are developed and directed by museum educator and mediator Ester García Guixot.
