Museums and cultural centers come together once again to celebrate the White Night.
The City Council, the Provincial Council, The Ocean Race Museum, the University and Aguas de Alicante propose a wide program of activities that includes guided tours, family workshops, music, film screenings and lectures, for all tastes and ages, on July 21st.
The MACA, Las Cigarreras, the Exhibition Hall of the Fish Market (on behalf of the City Council), the MUBAG, the MARQ and the Alicante Cultural Institute Juan Gil Albert (on behalf of the Provincial Council), the University Museum, the Water Museum and The Ocean Race Museum, following the positive reception of previous editions, expect a large number of attendees during the night of Friday the 21st.
One more year the MACA, Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante, launches a new edition of Aula d'Estiu – Summer at the MACA.
Aula d'Estiu is a summer art school based on play as a learning tool, where children will be able to develop their artistic sensitivity in a privileged space. Therefore, the classroom aims to promote creativity in the youngest.

Activities
This year under the title You Won't Forget Your First Revolution, at the MACA we will explore new techniques, materials and environments that involve a complete educational experience, which serves as personal enrichment, and always carried out in a dynamic and fun way based on very diverse proposals and activities.
"R] RETRATO" is an artistic education project designed by Ester García Guixot from Extrarradio, aimed at Schools with Specific Special Education Units in Alicante. It arises from the need to bring art and the museum to the school in a way adapted to the specific needs of the participants.
"Breathing MACA" goes beyond a conventional guided tour. It is about immersing yourself in the 20th Century Art Collection, which is one of the greatest artistic treasures of this city. It is a perfect place to learn, discover, inspire yourself and, above all, breathe art. If you haven't visited it yet, we don't know what you're waiting for. And if you have visited it on previous occasions, no problem, come and rediscover artists and works from a different perspective.
Palabras Mayores Digitales Arrives. A proposal through which the members of the group will bring our museum collections closer to our followers through social networks, with special attention to the life and work of Eusebio Sempere. This Wednesday will be the first one in which the group will begin to carry out their reflections and record their videos that will subsequently be published on our social networks.

Palabras Mayores arrives at MACA to go beyond the apparent. Because museums are places where you discover and learn but also spaces designed for citizens to experience and reinvent.
This is a mediation project aimed at people over 60 years old who want, first of all, to learn about and reflect on contemporary art, the function of museums and the vision of both established and emerging creators. On the other hand, the participating people will establish synergies with the collections existing in the museum, developing their own narrative based on what they find in the rooms through guided visits, open debates, artistic creation activities and dynamics of social and cultural empowerment.
The main objective is to turn the museum into a laboratory of cultural and artistic experimentation in which the participants will contribute their vision and experience to the contents present in the museum, while carrying out an activity that brings them new knowledge. It is an encounter in which the dialogue between the visitor and the museum takes place through contemporary art and the MACA collections, with the mediation of an educator who will act as a link between both.
From December 1st to 3rd, 2023. Once again, we continue working tirelessly to make MACA, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante accessible for EVERYONE. In this year 2023, we celebrate the seventh edition of TODOS MACA, artistic days of multidisciplinary nature with the purpose of making visible and empowering people with disabilities.
Our objective persists, since unfortunately, it is still necessary: we want all people to be able to participate in regular creative processes, access artistic circuits and be present in all educational and professional fields, promoting social, political and human equity.
As long as this need for change exists, we will be here, once again since 2017, celebrating these encounters and exchanges filled with emotion and inclusion at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante around the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated every December 3rd. With TODOS MACA, our purpose is to bring contemporary art closer to a diverse audience, fostering interest in culture, the arts, participation, creativity and respect towards all sectors of society.
We want to build bridges between people, turning our differences and diversity into opportunities for mutual learning and collective creation. We all contribute if we all participate. The TODOS MACA program offers numerous artistic and cultural activities during the weekend of December 1st, 2nd and 3rd, transforming the museum into a space to awaken the interest of spectators from all backgrounds and establishing a dialogue with the public to integrate the museum into the social life of the city, making it accessible FOR EVERYONE.
