Slow Art Day 2023

Activity

General public

15 April 2023

MACA participates for the first time in this global event, founded in 2010, and which has more than 1,500 participating museums and galleries, with a simple mission: to help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art.

When people look slowly at a work of art, they make discoveries. The most important discovery they make is that they can see and experience art without an expert (or experience). And that is an exciting discovery. It unlocks passion and creativity and helps create more art lovers.

One day a year, on April 15, 2023, people from around the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly. Participants look at five works of art for 10 minutes each and then meet to talk about their experience. That's all. Simple by design, the goal is to focus on art and the art of seeing.
