Fear. Lucas Escobedo Company

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on

Paüra is born from this collective storm, in this situation where fear occupies a large part of our daily lives. It also emerges trying to imagine what will come and assuming that little by little the waters will calm down and we will recover pieces of life that for months have become invisible. We have the desire that, in that return to the world we knew, fear will not have taken hold of our being.

There are as many types of fears as there are people in the world. Our objective is not to present a range of each and every one of them, but to use them as a springboard to jump into the void and unfold the wings of humor in that flight.

Paüra immerses itself in the world of comedy to address the theme of fear from that point of view. We could also speak of tragicomedy, or comedy with melodramatic tints; in short, that mixture of genres that are born from the deepest part of each person, where crying and laughter go hand in hand, and intertwine surprising each other through their continuous correlation.

Lucas Escobedo Company was born in 2011 after the premiere of his first solo creation, Boiiiing. Its main driving force is Lucas Escobedo, a multidisciplinary artist from Alicante who draws from both the circus world and theater.

The Band. OtraDanza Company

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on

La Banda is a street proposal, for all ages, with original music by Raquel Molano, set design by Luis Crespo, costumes by Ana Esteban, dramaturgy by Lucas Escobedo, choreography by Asun Noales and scenic direction by Escobedo and Noales.

La Banda is a piece of dance and circus and is the first street show premiered by the OtraDanza Company.

La Banda is a nomadic and chaotic family. Five fun characters, who could not be more different and diverse from each other, but who complement each other perfectly.

La Banda breaks molds, breaks free from any structure or limitation. They are a team, they work together, they have fun, they share knowledge and experience, they are different but they can and know how to understand each other.

In this metaphor of teamwork, represented by La Banda, we advocate for a space to share, finding the meaning of being, living and coexisting, from the small, subtle and simple. Sharing, connecting, adapting, reinventing, are the key words and implicit guidelines in La Banda.

Choreography, music, dramaturgy, performance, acrobatics, juggling, dance and circus feeding back into each other. We seek a common ground from what makes us different, being genuine individuals, always traveling through the transcultural, innovation and cultural blending. From different and new paths: past, present, experience and reflection.

Five performers, two men and three women, for a choreography created from the corporeal, the tangible, the skin… the body speaks and the mind reacts. With a clearly choral dramaturgy exalting the value of La Banda, of unity, as the sum of many individualities, highlighting the richness that each individual brings to the group. A sonic universe that, through raw guitars, electronic sounds and cheeky voices, travels between tension and tenderness, between surreal and playful scenes. Costumes with a taste of the past, but with a very current and contemporary vision. A set design that moves us through space, a common space that transforms and becomes another member of the team. All these elements form La Banda, a piece built from humor and physicality.
