Bookcrossing 2015

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on

For the seventh consecutive year, a total of 55 museums and art centers will share on April 23rd next, on the occasion of International Book Day, a bookcrossing experience or book release campaign, with the aim of flooding cities with volumes from the duplicate collection of their respective libraries. Participants have planned to put into circulation more than 2,000 free books with the intention that those who collect them enjoy their reading and release them again at another different point in the world. All released books will be accredited with their corresponding labels, will contain the necessary instructions to facilitate the reader's participation in the campaign and will be registered on the website www.bookcrossing-spain.com, where readers will be able to indicate the place where they will release each copy. The objective of this initiative is to add the libraries of the museums to the effort to promote reading and, more specifically, to the dissemination of knowledge of the different cultural disciplines.

The MACA will participate for the fourth consecutive year in this interesting international proposal.

As we have done in other years, during tomorrow's event, commemorating Book Day, the Museum will give a maximum of two copies of some of our books to anyone who wishes.

Since its international appearance in 2001, bookcrossing has only multiplied the number of participants in this type of initiative. Parallel to bookcrossing and as happened last year, MACA will set up a free book delivery point for all visitors who wish to do so.

From Tuesday afternoon the 22nd and until supplies run out, each visitor will be able to take a maximum of two books per person free of charge.

The books that will be given away are part of the museum's bibliographic collections and are mainly made up of catalogs from past exhibitions.

On April 21st, coordinated by the Artium in Vitoria, numerous libraries of museums and art and culture centers will share their publications on the occasion of the celebration of International Book Day, and they will do so through the bookcrossing experience or book release campaign.

Each participating center has selected one or several publications that are part of its collection and, with all of them, a video has been prepared that we share in this campaign to promote reading and the dissemination of contemporary culture.

The MACA will also leave a counter full of publications on the ground floor of the museum that visitors can take home.

Happy Book Day.

MACA Live

Undo time. Prowl through instability in wandering and diffuse forms, in a strange state of euphoria that slowly gives way to exhaustion.

Kind is an open and durational body practice; a journey toward constant creation, which is built through a succession of spontaneous actions. It is a being in the body and the environment from attentive, sensitive and sharp listening. There is nothing written, no score or pre-existing code; the code transforms or rewrites itself permanently. It is the uninterrupted search for possible solutions to the situations that the body accepts and traverses.

Concept: Javier Arozena and Gino Senesi

Performer: Javier Arozena

The performance includes complete nudity of the artist.
