LIDEMYVA …or The Important Difference Between Looking At and Seeing Art, consists of a workshop or game in which participants will play in the different rooms of the Museum. In these sessions, a different way of visiting the museum and observing the exhibited works is proposed.
The main actions that will be carried out are very simple: give titles to the exhibited works and try to relate the works with the titles of the other participants. The titles created by the players will be called "Inspirations".
Led by Jorge Luis Socorro, architect and creator of Lidemyva. The game will take place throughout the three floors of the museum's permanent exhibitions.
The "Musical Mishaps" are small-format performances that connect the museum with its surroundings, unlikely formulas and mixtures that always work, with heterogeneous repertoires that span all possible styles.
September 11: Embrace, with Bárbara Díaz and Matthieu Saglio.
September 18: Emotional Tangle (Music + Experimental Theater).
September 25: Breaking Jazz, with Rocío Sempere and José Bornay.

Selfie (from the English word self, 'auto' or 'oneself') is a term used to refer to photographs or videos that a person takes of themselves, alone or in company, generally with mobile phones, tablets or webcams.
And from this, we make art. Don't you believe it? You just have to browse through this video that the participants of the MACA Parking Club 2018 project carried out jointly and, above all, "plural", conducted by Extrarradio. Because any excuse is good to let yourself go, to flow, to create...
But don't stay looking from the other side!
Take a SELFIE in a place in your house that tells something about you, share it with us at the email comunicacion@maca-alicante.es or on Instagram @macaalicante and with all the ones received and, above all, "plural" we will put together a PLURAL SELFIE – NOT WITHOUT MY MOBILE

Alicante celebrates the eighth edition of International Museum Day online.
The City Council, the Provincial Council, Aguas de Alicante, the University and The Ocean Race Museum propose this year an online edition, due to the current situation of closure of museums and cultural centers due to COVID-19.
Twelve exhibition centers in Alicante come together for the eighth consecutive year to celebrate a new edition of Museum Day in the city, on the occasion of International Museum Day (IMD). On this occasion, and due to the exceptional situation, the MACA, Las Cigarreras, the MUSA, the Exhibition Room of the Fish Market, the Nativity Museum, and the New Tabarca Museum (on behalf of the City Council), the Mubag, Marq and the Juan Gil-Albert Institute (on behalf of the Provincial Council), The Ocean Race Museum, the MUA (on behalf of the University) and the Alicante Water Museum, have prepared programming for all audiences, which can be enjoyed online.
Following the successful participation of last year, with 16,193 visitors, the organizers hope that, despite the change in format, participation will be massive.
Every year since 1977, ICOM organizes International Museum Day, an exceptional moment for the international museum community.
The objective of International Museum Day (IMD) is to raise awareness that museums are an important means for cultural exchange, the enrichment of cultures, as well as for the development of mutual understanding, collaboration and peace among peoples. Organized each May 18 or around that date for more than 40 years, the events and activities planned to celebrate IMD can last a day, a weekend or even an entire week. More and more museums around the world are participating in this global celebration: last year 37,000 museums participated in the event in 158 countries and territories.
This year's theme is: "Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion." With the theme "Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion," International Museum Day 2020 #IMD2020 aims to become a meeting point to celebrate the diversity of perspectives that shape museum communities and staff, as well as to promote tools to identify and overcome biases in what museums display and in the stories they tell.
International Museum Day 2020 Goes Digital
Despite the current situation of widespread pandemic, #IMD2020 will be celebrated through the organization of digital and online activities. For those who wish to organize on-site activities, we propose an alternative date: a three-day celebration between November 14, coinciding with the Long Night of Museums, and the 74th anniversary of ICOM, November 16, 2020
The communication proposals for Digital IMD 2020 have been made by 4th year students of the Degree in Advertising and Public Relations: Álvaro Fuentes Lledó, Carolina González Valencia, Lourdes Ros Buendía, David Sabater Zamorano and María Vila García, within the context of the subject Production and Realization in Print Media; and coordinated by the professors: Ana Isabel Ibáñez Hernández and Lydia Girón Plaza. and coordinated by the professors: Ana Isabel Ibáñez Hernández and Lydia Girón Plaza.
In 2020, the MACA brought together in this first cycle of meetings called New Narratives, artists whose work is represented in the museum's collections.
Together with critics, curators and experts in visual arts, the artists analyzed, in a conversation format, their creative trajectory. Different professionals participated in sessions of analysis and reflection, always starting from different works in the museum's collections, which also served for the citizens of Alicante to learn firsthand about the MACA's heritage.
PROYECTA is a cultural, educational and leisure event aimed at children, young people, parents and teachers that seeks audiovisual literacy in the province of Alicante. A competition that aims to be a space for coexistence between the audiovisual sector (content and professionals) and the educational environment to promote the inclusion of values, encourage critical thinking and foster the creation of audiovisual content both inside and outside the classroom linked to topics of social interest of local and global character without forgetting the use of new technologies.
This project, coordinated by Professor Carlos Manteca and carried out by second-year students of the Product Design specialty at the School, consists of creating a "promotional product" for a point of sale: the hypothetical MACA museum store.
Since it is an article to promote a museum, the designed object must have a strong cultural value and, furthermore, references to it, its history, or the artworks displayed in it. The inspiration has been the MACA museum space and the work of Eusebio Sempere, as well as the relationship between ART and DESIGN.
These new designs will take over from those that have been displayed for the past year on the ground floor of the Museum.
Museum Days, Right to Culture and Intellectual Property in the Information Society
Museums play a key role in the promotion of culture and art, which requires proper management of intellectual property rights of the works they house, in particular, those of reproduction and public communication.
To debate the management of these rights, the present Museum and Intellectual Property Conference is organized, which bears the title "Between the Public and the Private", due to this vocation of service to the general interest and, in particular, the promotion and access to culture, which Museums hold, but which must be combined with the recognition and protection of the rights of authors and, of course, the relationship of works with the public, especially in the digital sphere.
