MACA presents in Alicante the exhibition on Bruno Munari. The exhibition has been created in cooperation with the Juan March Foundation and has the collaboration of the Consorci de Museus.
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante presents in Alicante an adapted version of its spaces of the first exhibition dedicated to Bruno Munari in our country, which took place in Madrid between February and May of this year. Co-organized with the Juan March Foundation, the exhibition travels to MACA to continue at the Juan March Foundation Museum in Palma and the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art in Cuenca thanks to the agreement between these institutions.
The Museum of Contemporary Art opens to the public the doors of the exhibition "Art in a Barren Land, 1939-1959" with works from the IVAM collection. The exhibition was previously shown at the Museum of Fine Arts in Castellón. In Alicante, the exhibition will feature new works.
The exhibition is organized and produced by the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community and the Culture Department of the Alicante City Council; and the works have been loaned by the Reina Sofía National Center of Art Museum, the MACVAC in Villafamés, the Alicante University Museum, the Mediterranean Foundation and the spirit-matter Collection. Works to which are added the pieces by Elena Asins belonging to the MACA collections as well as those deposited in the museum such as those from the Robledo-Palop Collection from New York or the Ars Citerior Collection.
The exhibition can be visited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Alicante until May 28 and is part of the commemoration of the Sempere Year that celebrates this 2023 the centenary of his birth. The trajectory of Asins intersects in a transversal way with that of the Alicante artist Eusebio Sempere, who will be present in an underlying manner in much of the MACA's program of exhibitions and activities in the coming months.
From June 16 to October 15, 2023. Opening of the second exhibition organized from the extensive collection donated by Michael Jenkins and Javier Romero to the MACA, bringing together on this occasion the work of fifty-eight artists of different nationalities, working in very diverse artistic media, and striking an equal balance between women and men artists.
