Between Two. Lali Ayguadé

"My work is based on the exploration of the abstraction of dance or movement, placing it in a concrete situation that transforms it into something more conceptual. This allows me to emphasize the feelings and emotions of the performers on stage. Movement can seem very abstract, but as humans, we use something very tangible which is our body. The link between the real and the imagination is something fundamental in my research.

As performers, we have the opportunity to play with this fine line where nothing is completely one thing or the other, so I create this concept in bodies, and also in space. Our bodies end up being small in space, but our imagination gives us the opportunity to go beyond our physical boundaries and overcome limits. Our mind has an underestimated power and is a wonderful tool that makes everything you connect with your body become another path to seek and achieve virtuosity. But it requires time to achieve it; in fact, the concept of time is also something I like to play with. I feel a lot of adrenaline when I see speed because as a performer, I can feel the effort and complexity of the path that leads to it. But it has to be managed well so as not to disappear into it: to emphasize it, you need to have silences and moments of slowness in the body, which is even more powerful and also difficult to accept and achieve. As a creator and artist, when you find a concept to play with, it is always important to also play with its opposite. It gives you a greater range of opportunities and allows your body and mind to show the beauty of movement through a simple gesture".

Fear. Lucas Escobedo Company

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on

Paüra is born from this collective storm, in this situation where fear occupies a large part of our daily lives. It also emerges trying to imagine what will come and assuming that little by little the waters will calm down and we will recover pieces of life that for months have become invisible. We have the desire that, in that return to the world we knew, fear will not have taken hold of our being.

There are as many types of fears as there are people in the world. Our objective is not to present a range of each and every one of them, but to use them as a springboard to jump into the void and unfold the wings of humor in that flight.

Paüra immerses itself in the world of comedy to address the theme of fear from that point of view. We could also speak of tragicomedy, or comedy with melodramatic tints; in short, that mixture of genres that are born from the deepest part of each person, where crying and laughter go hand in hand, and intertwine surprising each other through their continuous correlation.

Lucas Escobedo Company was born in 2011 after the premiere of his first solo creation, Boiiiing. Its main driving force is Lucas Escobedo, a multidisciplinary artist from Alicante who draws from both the circus world and theater.

The Band. OtraDanza Company

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on

La Banda is a street proposal, for all ages, with original music by Raquel Molano, set design by Luis Crespo, costumes by Ana Esteban, dramaturgy by Lucas Escobedo, choreography by Asun Noales and scenic direction by Escobedo and Noales.

La Banda is a piece of dance and circus and is the first street show premiered by the OtraDanza Company.

La Banda is a nomadic and chaotic family. Five fun characters, who could not be more different and diverse from each other, but who complement each other perfectly.

La Banda breaks molds, breaks free from any structure or limitation. They are a team, they work together, they have fun, they share knowledge and experience, they are different but they can and know how to understand each other.

In this metaphor of teamwork, represented by La Banda, we advocate for a space to share, finding the meaning of being, living and coexisting, from the small, subtle and simple. Sharing, connecting, adapting, reinventing, are the key words and implicit guidelines in La Banda.

Choreography, music, dramaturgy, performance, acrobatics, juggling, dance and circus feeding back into each other. We seek a common ground from what makes us different, being genuine individuals, always traveling through the transcultural, innovation and cultural blending. From different and new paths: past, present, experience and reflection.

Five performers, two men and three women, for a choreography created from the corporeal, the tangible, the skin… the body speaks and the mind reacts. With a clearly choral dramaturgy exalting the value of La Banda, of unity, as the sum of many individualities, highlighting the richness that each individual brings to the group. A sonic universe that, through raw guitars, electronic sounds and cheeky voices, travels between tension and tenderness, between surreal and playful scenes. Costumes with a taste of the past, but with a very current and contemporary vision. A set design that moves us through space, a common space that transforms and becomes another member of the team. All these elements form La Banda, a piece built from humor and physicality.

Museum Day 2012

The OtraDanza company, represented by dancers Asun Noales and Sebastián Rowinsky, participated in DIM2012 with a performance in the temporary exhibitions room.

The performance had the collaboration of violinist Gabriel Jiménez Olariaga.

Around a hundred visitors wanted to come and enjoy a brilliant performance that had the "help" of a work by José María Sicilia from the Art in Airports exhibition.

A gift for the senses, which we can once again enjoy at the museum thanks to the generosity of Asun Noales and her team.

Kind. Javier Arozena

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
MACA Live

Undo time. Prowl through instability in wandering and diffuse forms, in a strange state of euphoria that slowly gives way to exhaustion.

Kind is an open and durational body practice; a journey toward constant creation, which is built through a succession of spontaneous actions. It is a being in the body and the environment from attentive, sensitive and sharp listening. There is nothing written, no score or pre-existing code; the code transforms or rewrites itself permanently. It is the uninterrupted search for possible solutions to the situations that the body accepts and traverses.

Concept: Javier Arozena and Gino Senesi

Performer: Javier Arozena

The performance includes complete nudity of the artist.

This is Alfred. Elías Aguirre

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
MACA Live. SUN 2023

Who is Alfred? Where has he been all this time? Nobody knows, but occasionally he appears to remind us that he exists. He hides beneath our feet, behind every wall, in each one of us traversing our subconscious. He is rarely seen. His appearance is fragile and his life in the exterior is limited like that of mayflies. He lives in past, ancient emotions. His senses and perception of things, of space, of time seem to be different from ours, they don't follow the same patterns… He still seems amazed.
