Painted Tales. The Dreamlike World of Leonora Carrington

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
I, artist. February 2022

The boy Juan had wings instead of ears, the boy Jorge liked to eat the wall of his room. Through the streets of Chihuahua walks Chavela Ortiz, the six-legged monster. These are some of the inhabitants of Milk of Dreams, the notebook in which the plastic artist and surrealist writer Leonora Carrington captured her most intimate and heartfelt visions: the stories she imagined for her children, presented in a facsimile edition that preserves intact the visual poetry of the original texts and drawings.

Everything is color. Sonia Delaunay

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
I, artist. January 2022

In this book, an artist takes her son on a fantasy journey to help him understand the different and varied ways of experiencing colors. With their multicolored car, they enter a landscape made of the hues and shapes of her artworks. Charles's mother is Sonia Delaunay, who in the early 1910s, together with her husband Robert, proposed the bold idea that instead of representing people, places and things as they appeared in real life, the modern world should be reflected by capturing its colors, shapes, sounds and movements. Coordinated by Va de cuentos and María Maraña

Once upon a time, there was a forest. The invisible network beneath the ground

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Laboratory of Letters and Images. December 2021

A few years ago it was discovered that trees in a forest communicate with each other

through an underground network of fungi and roots. This discovery that seems

like a fantasy shows us the forest as a gigantic living being. And at the same

time, the tree as an individual that communicates with its community to alert

of dangers or to offer help.

Laboratory of Letters and Images. September 2021

Román Belmonte, author of the blog Where the Monsters Live: Children's Literature, points out in one of his articles a curiosity that we couldn't let pass in this programming dedicated to storybook characters: redheads!. From mythical characters such as

Pippi Longstocking to adventurous journalists like Tintin, nowadays authors of books continue to enjoy coloring their characters' hair in reddish-orange. And it is that red hair is special, different and we like that.

This month we will create with a single color to approach concepts such as contrast, tone or saturation. Orange is the protagonist
