ORPHEUS SONG-1970 . POETIC SYMPHONY FOR THREE VOICES AND CHORUS.

Action poetry trio formed by Bartolomé Ferrando, Laura Tejeda and Alain Goudard with the Corodelantal of the MACA directed by Sonia Megías.

In collaboration with: Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Generalitat

The Songs of Orpheus is a collection of visual poems of a musical nature, created by Elena Asins in 1970 on loose sheets of paper with a typewriter, forming beautiful drawings with letters, groupings of illegible sounds and words that construct phrases with a certain semantic sense and literary qualities, which allude to one of the oldest and most obscure episodes of Greek mythology: the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, traversed by love and death. It is one of the most important pieces in the history of Spanish experimental poetry and is being shown for the first time.

The Geometry of Strings

CoroDelantal MACA presents The Geometry of Strings with dancer Alicia Narejos

Alicia Narejos is a dancer from Murcia with a degree in Choreography from the María de Ávila Superior Conservatory of Dance. She has worked with the Antonio Ruz Company, Stocos Company and Otra Danza, among other independent choreographers. She won the First Prize at "Tiempo de Danza II" and as a choreographer she was awarded at Creajoven XIX. Her works are mainly collaborations with musicians, highlighting members of the Spanish National Orchestra and Choir, Neopercusión, Espai Barroc and Il Parnasso musicale. She is currently pursuing a Creation Grant at the prestigious "Residencia de Estudiantes" in Madrid, being the second one awarded to dance in the entire history of the residence.

The workshop will consist of an encounter between movement, sound and matter. A work of plasticity that will bring to the scale of human bodies the grilles, cradles and other geometries of the string figures by Eva Lootz. In what way will the patterns of play, their nature, and the string itself influence the voice and the body? It is the starting point of a research work between Alicia Narejos, Eva Lootz and Sonia Megías that is born at MACA and will continue to develop in places such as the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

Winter Solstice Concert

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
CoroApron

Since humanity developed astronomical awareness, it has celebrated solstices and equinoxes with festivals full of all kinds of rituals. The Church would appropriate these dates, calling them Christmas, Saint John, Saint Joseph, or La Merced, but we must not forget their pagan origins. In this winter solstice concert, CoroDelantal MACA takes us into artistic worlds and rituals from which we will emerge transformed and with our listening heightened.

Do you dare to come as an audience member?

Concert performed by CoroDelantal MACA and soprano Laura Giménez as soloist, directed by Sonia Megías.

Udnámekam. A Magical Story of Music

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on

The Udnámekam project. A magical history of music emerges as a consequence of the importance given to the necessary pedagogical work to be carried out with audiences that show reluctance toward contemporary art.

The show consists of a musical journey through a magical history of humanity and the music of the world, starting from the idea that neither time nor space exist, but rather are a fiction of the human mind in order to be able to understand and measure its reality. On this journey we will see how music develops from its birth, where music begins to be made without the existence of musical instruments, passing through its different evolutions until reaching current music that does nothing more than reconnect us with the beginning of everything.

Our audience will learn, always in a playful, stimulating way and interacting with the artists, the characteristics of music from different eras and places. This journey will have several stops where they will be able to experience the sensation of accompanying the artists with different rhythms, moving their bodies according to the proposed sounds, discovering how and who emits special sonorities, imagining the sound proposals in a drawing, or becoming a conductor and leading the artists in the interpretation of a musical piece.

By Lumina Ensemble, Sonia Megías and Eva Guillamón with images by Mitar Terzic. Within the 2022 public call for subsidies for the development of cultural and artistic projects by the Alicante City Council.

Lumina Ensemble with Jesús Torres

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Soniart. October 2021

Lumina Ensemble is the project of four saxophonists

passionate about their instrument and contemporary music, who belong

to two generations and who join efforts to achieve

high-level musical performances.

Lumina refers to the light that continuously permeates

our land. Light that determines our open and

tolerant character, and that proposes the union of people who converge in a

common project. Light as an analogy of our way of understanding

musical performance in its infinite forms, with proposals

committed to contemporary music. Essential therefore to achieve

this goal, is the collaboration with composers and the premiere of works

written or transcribed for this group.

This concert serves to present Lumina to the

public, although it should be noted that its members

have significant artistic and professional experience that has

led them to perform in numerous concert halls, festivals and concert

series.

Lumina Ensemble is a flexible group that is based on

saxophonists Pablo de la Fuente, Javier Carrillos, Isaac Verdú

and José A. Suay. In this event it also includes

Óscar Martí (percussion) and Mercedes Lozano (organ).

Jesús Torres: (1965 - Zaragoza). He completed his academic training at the Royal Superior Conservatory of Music in Madrid.

In parallel, he takes various courses in Musical Analysis with

Luis de Pablo. Between 1986 and 1988 he studies composition with Francisco Guerrero. He has been awarded various prizes: SGAE (Madrid 1992), Gaudeamus Prize (Amsterdam 1995), Valentino Bucchi (Rome 1997), Queen Sofía (Barcelona 1999), Millennium Chamber Players (Chicago 2008) and the National Music Prize 2012. He was appointed resident composer of the CNDM (National Center for Musical Dissemination) for the 2017/2018 Season. Since the 2019/2020 Season he was appointed resident composer of the Zaragoza City Symphony Orchestra.

His first opera, Tránsito, based on the homonymous play by

Max Aub, premiered in May 2021 at the Naves del Español

in Madrid, commissioned by the Royal Theater, in co-production with the Spanish

Theater. His catalog consists of more than 130 compositions, with

orchestral and chamber pieces of very different

instrumental formations. His music has been performed in festivals and

concert series in numerous countries.
