Painted Tales. The Dreamlike World of Leonora Carrington

I, artist. February 2022

The boy Juan had wings instead of ears, the boy Jorge liked to eat the wall of his room. Through the streets of Chihuahua walks Chavela Ortiz, the six-legged monster. These are some of the inhabitants of Milk of Dreams, the notebook in which the plastic artist and surrealist writer Leonora Carrington captured her most intimate and heartfelt visions: the stories she imagined for her children, presented in a facsimile edition that preserves intact the visual poetry of the original texts and drawings.

Everything is color. Sonia Delaunay

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
I, artist. January 2022

In this book, an artist takes her son on a fantasy journey to help him understand the different and varied ways of experiencing colors. With their multicolored car, they enter a landscape made of the hues and shapes of her artworks. Charles's mother is Sonia Delaunay, who in the early 1910s, together with her husband Robert, proposed the bold idea that instead of representing people, places and things as they appeared in real life, the modern world should be reflected by capturing its colors, shapes, sounds and movements. Coordinated by Va de cuentos and María Maraña

How to explore the infinite. Yayoi Kusama

Yayoi Kusama covers her paintings with dots. She paints so many polka dots that they end up coming out of her canvases covering the walls, dresses, tables and many more things. She creates magical mirror rooms with shiny balls and glitter. Fausto Gilberti illustrates and captures the vital and artistic journey of one of the most beloved contemporary artists by the public who continues to enchant audiences in museums around the world.

In Splitting (1974), the artist cut a single-family house in half from a typical middle-class American suburb, while in Conical Intersect (1975), this time in Europe, he drilled several concentric circles into the walls of a building that was going to be demolished in the popular Les Halles neighborhood in Paris. Coordinated by Va de cuentos and María Maraña

In her work, always meticulous and repetitive, Yayoi Kusama seeks to reach infinite space and suggests a reflection about the limits we see in the place we inhabit. Are these real or are they imposed by society? Does infinite space really exist?

Love is the air. In the work of Marc Chagall

In this album and in its lyrical narrative, inspired by the language of his autobiography, readers are shown, viewed from many different windows, the experiences of childhood and war that marked the life and art of Marc Chagall. Known for both his dazzling paintings and his colorful stained glass windows, Marc Chagall rose from his humble origins to become one of the most famous artists in the world. Discover the work of Marc Chagall in this wonderful album by the creators of The Sound of Colors, winner of the Caldecott Honor award.

We will create some paper contraptions to set in motion the lovers characters from Chagall's paintings, whom he constantly depicted floating or flying over the city.

Mythology. September 2025

In this session of the mythological workshop we stayed at the MACA to visit the temporary exhibition on floor 1: "Now the rush remained still. Abstract experiences around Manolo Millares". In this exhibition, curated by Rosa Castells, we can see works created in a more abstract context, from the pioneers of the avant-garde in Paris to Spanish informalists, among whom the work of Canarian artist Manolo Millares stands out. For the visit we designed a playful experience that invites observation, imagination, critical thinking and reflection from the subjectivities of each participant.

We are interested in this encounter between the general public, diverse and intergenerational, and the museum. We believe it is important to break prejudices about how and who has the right to enjoy art. Can we only appreciate art if we are experts in the subject? Is it necessary for the observer to know the historical context of the work/artist to activate their thinking?

There are no rules for enjoying a work of art, what is essential is the capacity for observation and wonder. These are capacities that are nourished by knowledge, but they begin with attitude.

Aimed at families with children aged 12 to 14 years old, these sessions aim to foster interest in the world of art and reading among an audience approaching adolescence who is beginning to understand the adult world while still from the innocence of childhood. The selection of books, mostly biographies, offers a certain fascination among the younger audience that is beginning to move away from children's literature. This pre-adolescence is a very interesting moment to offer tools for creation and exploration of the world, because by developing our artistic talent and acquiring culture and knowledge, we foster empowerment, self-esteem and open minds.
