"R for Portrait" is the proposal we are launching for Special Needs Educational Centers, designed by Extrarradio. Art and Social Inclusion, and which arises from the need to bring art and the museum to the school as an experience as adapted as possible to the specific needs of the participants.
[R] PORTRAIT is based on artistic portraiture and we will use a multisensory methodology based on stimulating students through art.
We will work on visual, auditory, haptic, olfactory and gustatory stimulation, giving the student the freedom to explore, discover, create and enjoy art.
The project consists of 10 sessions at the school centers CEIP Azorín and IES Gaia in San Vicente del Raspeig, Alicante during the 2020-2021 school year.
Taking into consideration that in 2021 the Museum of Contemporary Art in Alicante celebrates its tenth anniversary, that when it opened its doors it did so by dedicating a floor to the Juana Francés Collection bequeathed to this museum by the artist upon her death, and taking into consideration that a review of her work is posed as a contemporary requirement, we propose the exhibition of a significant part of Juana's work corresponding to the informalist and surrealist periods. The earthworks and boxes that span a period from 1957 to 1979.
