Screen Printing Manual in Easy Reading

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
This Easy Reading Screen Printing Manual is a tribute to artists Eusebio Sempere and his partner Abel Martín.
They brought the technique of artistic printing to Spain and were experts in screen printing. In 2023, the 100th anniversary of Eusebio Sempere's birth was celebrated, and this manual is a gift to commemorate it.
The Seri Team has created wonderful designs to remember the artist Eusebio Sempere, who was famous for his works made with screen printing.
This Easy Reading Screen Printing Manual is part of the Pulling the Thread project. This project was selected in 2019 in the Common Place call of the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community.
This manual is made by the Seri Team, which draws and explains the screen printing technique in an easy way. We want all people to be able to learn and enjoy screen printing.
When the Seri Team comes to the museum to seek inspiration, they come accompanied by Ester García and David Gil from Daguten Graphic School of the Neighborhood.
They invent projects like this one. Their commitment to working as a team shows that screen printing is more than just drawing. It is a way of creating a world where everyone is welcome and where we can work together to improve it every day.

Artistic program for educational centers with specific Special Education units

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
[R] PORTRAIT is an artistic education project for Schools with Specific Units of Special Education in Alicante, designed by Ester García Guixot from Extrarradio, which arises from the need to bring art and the MACA closer to the school as an experience as adapted as possible to the specific needs of the participants. In this project we will try to bring the human face in Art closer with activities that contribute to the general cognitive development of students and, especially, in the sensory aspect, so that students can develop a personal balance in terms of feelings and emotions. At the same time, it aims to discover that the world is full of different people with different faces, which make each person different.

Eusebio Sempere and Abel Martín. Silkscreen Printing: Art and Much Craft

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Sempere Collection of the MACA

Eusebio Sempere (Onil, Alicante, 1923-1985) and his partner Abel Martín (Mosqueruela, Teruel, 1931-Madrid, 1993) learned the silkscreen printing technique in Paris, in the workshop of Cuban artist Wifredo Arcay. Upon their return in 1960, now in Madrid, both set up a workshop to print the first artistic silkscreens in Spain. A complex book by Lucio Muñoz with textured sand attracted, due to its perfection, commissions from other artists. From the mid-60s onwards, it was Abel who took charge of the entire technical process and became an expert silkscreen printer, a key figure in the reproduction and dissemination of contemporary art.

The deep conviction that graphic work deserved the status of an original work, which brought contemporary art within reach of a large majority of the public, turning it into a mass phenomenon, and the respect and enthusiasm that both professionals profess for graphic work, has an impact on their own artistic production. Sempere creates two hundred silkscreens, all printed by Abel Martín, grouped in series, published in portfolios or individually, and some of them accompanied by literary texts, a display of technique and craftsmanship.
