Kveta Pacovska. Pocket Museums

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
I, artist. June 2022

Květa Pacovská (Prague, July 28, 1928) is a Czech painter, sculptor, and illustrator. She studied and graduated in Applied Arts. She was a professor in Berlin, and as she herself has said, she began her career in illustration by trying to share an activity with her children, in an attempt to share something creative.

Although she is distinguished as an illustrator, after the 1990s Květa has also developed a career in sculpture and painting with numerous exhibitions in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Japan, with shows at the Pompidou Center in Paris and at the Museum of Applied Arts in Frankfurt, among others. Both in her pictorial work and in her children's illustrations, one can see the influences of constructivism and the play and color that evoke Paul Klee and Vasily Kandinsky. Hers is a very sensitive constructivism, and in her designs the influence of the Bauhaus School is evident. Coordination: Va de cuentos and María Maraña

No more boring artists. Scenic Camp 14_18

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on

"No more boring artists. Scenic Camp 14_18" is a creation project through the performing arts… and much more. It is an invitation to reinvent the concept of museum that young people have. We want the museum to become the epicenter of their passions, their interests and their aspirations. We know that this happens by awakening emotion, imagination, debate, encounter and discovery. It is necessary to reach them, and put at the center the topics that truly interest them. After all, art is a language, and we want our young people to express themselves through it. We want a creative society. We want them to be art.

Objectives

Convert MACA into a reference space among the youth population.

Bring young people closer to contemporary art so that they not only understand it, but also become creative agents.

Promote interest in artistic production and creation through the performing arts.

Foster social awareness and critical consciousness through the practice of different artistic disciplines.

Offer cultural leisure alternatives that can be consolidated beyond the project's calendar through the creation of permanent artistic collectives.

Establish bridges of intergenerational dialogue based on the use of new technologies and communication networks

Aimed at young people aged 14 to 18 years old.

Idea and coordination: AmbulantesLab selected in the #cercles 2021 call of the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community.

Yves Klein. Paint Everything Blue

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
I, artist. May 2022

Yves Klein always thought about how to surprise his audience, and one day he hit the mark, he would paint everything in a special, unique blue. The rest is history. Here, as in his previous books, Fausto Gilberti tells us his vital and artistic journey with humor and intelligence.

On March 9, 1960, Yves Klein performed his performance, Anthropometries of the Blue Period at the Galerie Internationale d'Art Contemporain in Paris. The work consisted of the creation of two large-format anthropomorphic paintings conducted by Klein. His production consisted of the application of paint made with the IKB pigment, a dark navy blue manufactured and patented by the artist, on the torso and thighs of the bodies of naked women, who once covered in paint, pressed their bodies against large sheets of white paper. The result was a monochromatic and abstract impression of those female bodies in real scale.

Eyes to Fly. The Symbol in Graciela Iturbe's Photograph

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
I, artist April 2022

Graciela Iturbide is an icon of Mexican culture. A photographer who builds images full of realism, far removed from magic or surrealism, two terms with which her photos have sometimes been defined, although she distances herself from both concepts. Her images, beyond documenting Mexican life, provide a background composed of different stories, a mixture of the indigenous and the postcolonial that she herself defines as the "Mexican tempo".

In this workshop we will explore the creation of images with the bird as the protagonist, using the photo-collage technique.

Méliès' Tricks, Long Before TikTok

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
I, artist. March 2022

We take a journey through the beginnings of cinema history by experimenting with the inventions and gadgets that preceded it, such as the praxinoscope or the thaumatrope. We will also learn about some of the most famous tricks of George Méliès, a pioneer in cinema of attractions and creator of most of the tricks and special effects that directors who came after him would use to create their films. Plural Selfie, not without my mobile

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Project selected in the CERCLES cultural mediation projects Call for Proposals of the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community

Selfie (from the English word self, 'auto' or 'oneself') is a term used to refer to photographs or videos that a person takes of themselves, alone or in company, generally with mobile phones, tablets or webcams.

And from this, we make art. Don't you believe it? You just have to browse through this video that the participants of the MACA Parking Club 2018 project carried out jointly and, above all, "plural", conducted by Extrarradio. Because any excuse is good to let yourself go, to flow, to create...

But don't stay looking from the other side!

Take a SELFIE in a place in your house that tells something about you, share it with us at the email comunicacion@maca-alicante.es or on Instagram @macaalicante and with all the ones received and, above all, "plural" we will put together a PLURAL SELFIE – NOT WITHOUT MY MOBILE

MACA ParkingClub Action. "Plural Selfie-Not Without My Mobile" by Ester García and Juan Diego Cerdá from Extrarradio.

Project selected in the Call for cultural mediation projects CERCLES of the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community.

Dismantling the house. Creation of imagined architectures. Gordon Matta-Clark

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
Dismantling the house. Creation of imagined architectures. Gordon Matta-Clark

Album inspired by American architect Gordon Matta-Clark and his work Conical Intersect (Paris, 1975).

This is a formidable book that shows us the coexistence between the city and nature. How we humans come to demand of ourselves to adapt to the unexpected, how we discover that from chaos, our creativity is born and how we can understand, respect and love nature, despite it presenting itself to us in an unexpected way.

We will create a building cut, on a model of a house or building.

Gordon Matta-Clark's building cuts represent a critical perspective, a reflection on speculation, private property and privacy.

In Splitting (1974), the artist cut in half a single-family house in a typical middle-class American suburb, while in Conical Intersect (1975), this time in Europe, he drilled several concentric circles in the walls of a building that was going to be demolished in the popular Les Halles neighborhood of Paris.

Vegetable Abstraction. The Painting of Georgia O'Keeffe

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on
I, artist. November 2021

Georgia O'Keeffe was a fascinating, original, and determined artist. She dedicated her life to art and was known as the mother of American modernism. Perhaps her most famous paintings are those that represent flowers on a large scale. Flowers seen through a "magnifying glass" that enlarges their shapes and colors until bringing them closer to abstract art. Observe, enlarge, abstract the flowers.

In this workshop of Me, artist we experimented with paintings, watercolors, flowers and abstraction to approach the art of Georgia O'Keeffe.

Mythology

Submitted by brandcode_deweloper on

The Mitolatorio began its journey in April 2020. During the pandemic, it functioned as a digital collaborative map of contemporary myths. It was a way to stay connected with the outside world, redefining public space from our homes.

One of the pillars of the Mitolatorio has always been urban redefinition, because reviewing our emotions about public space empowers us within it, because paying special attention to it makes us more aware of its peculiarities, and it helps us value all elements of the public and urban landscape by placing on the same

level the architectural (a building with an emblematic façade), the vegetal (the tree in the plaza where we played) and the human (the neighbor who always sat on the same park bench), among others. We believe that this perspective can become

radical in an unexpected way if it is carried out from the perspective of a work from the Museum previously seen, smelled, and creatively discussed.

The mediation of the works and places will be based on carrying out creative actions with them as objects, to promote critical and expanded observation of the work and subjective, bodily and also critical exploration of

urban space. To the significant power of the work-place binomial we thus add two contributions: that of the practices of mediated plastic creation from the workshops and laboratories of María Maraña, and that of the techniques of proprioceptive exploration and identity fabulation from the interactive practices of Sergi Hernández.
